the layers you get from deep space-to-foreground are symphonic. There is a musical progression from the far trees to the near, from dissolved image (in the background) to bold & immediate image (in the foreground); and you resolve it all in the clear mirror of the water. This is a generous, embracing vision, from an eye that seems to see & include everything, including the pale diffuse light of a winter day. And he birds 'finish' it all. Just rapturous.
